!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!
I'm in kind of a crappy mood tonight, so I'll take it out on cars instead of people. Prepare for a huge dump of terrible prices.
What is this, Fast and Furious? These aren't worth Supra money!
!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!
$100k can buy you a VERY VERY nice C7
http://losangeles.craigslist.org/lac/cto/460700
!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!
Wait wait wait, $80k for a Continental and it isn't even a 65?
!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!
$50k can get you a lot more than an early C5 now a days. Like a C6Z or something with an interior better than one created by Fischer Price
!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!
I'm calling on Bandit for the final judgement on this one, but SILVER SEATS!!!!!!
!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!
From what I can gather from this one, he has an actual 800-900HP car in the us, supposedly "fully legal," but it's been crashed, but he has the parts to repair it, but he can't be bothered. Wut.
!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!
That;s a lot of money for an RX7 with only 400HP. You can get a lot more power and reliability and luxury for the money.
!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!
Sorry, $35k for a car that needs a new paint job? And there were a hell of a lot more than 300 2wd blazers made.
!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!
Apparently, these are Silvestro bait, but for $35k, you can get a hell of a lot of V10 E60
!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!
No. Just no. It even still has the ugly US spec bumpers. At $32k. Most in this condition (With a bit higher miles, to be fair) go for about $10k.
!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!
So you're asking $30k for a car, but you can't be bothered to wash it or pump the tires up?
!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!
Do these go for that much?
!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!
Thats quite a lot.
!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!
I can understand early 911s going for this much, but this is a 912. Maybe K-Roll can give me a bit more insight into this pricing.
!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!
This is one of those replicas that makes you wonder if they've ever actually seen a picture of the real thing.
!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!
$30k for a C4? Maybe someone will....no. Just no.
!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!
That's a nice Fox, and those are some very low miles, but cars are meant to be enjoyed and you can get a 2015 Ecoboost for that money.
!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!
180k miles is...a lot, even if a lot has been replaced.
!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!
$27k for a C4 and it's an auto......
!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!
A high mileage, non-turbo Supra. I've seen a damn near identical car (albeit grey) go for $16k
!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!
This is one of those times where you just aren't going to get what you put into it.
!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!
$25 grand for an 80s truck that can't even be smogged? I'll pass......
!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!
$25k for a TPI C4 with a terrible body kit. (Yes, it's TPI. Look at the interior and description on the side.)
!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!
Again, you aren't getting what you put in and you didn't even bother putting more than 1 picture in a listing for a $20k car!
!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!
I love in the ad how he says " H2s were't around then." Well they are now, and they're a hell of a lot cheaper than some custom Cherokee with build quality which is anyone's guess. Can't he at least repair the driver's seat?
!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!
He's asking $25k for a basic R34, and I happen to know that this car isn't legal either.
!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!
A high mileage, NA, auto Supra for $25k?! Is he out of his mind?
!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!
$25k for a not-near-finished Countach replica.
!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!
These picturies have GOT to be from 1998. Where the car obviously came from, with those modifications. And where it should have stayed.
!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!
Another high mileage, NA Auto Supra.
!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!
Another car that I happen to know is not legal
!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!
For $22k, this whole thing had better be a 10/10
!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!
Whoa...
!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!
This dude has the audacity to call a 130k mile car "brand new"
!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!
Why not W220?
!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!
He calls it a 700HP car, but it's only pushing 450...
!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!
Just look at it.
!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!
This had better have an LS for $20k. Hint: It doesn't
!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!
He spent $12k on his interior, but couldn't get rid of the US spec bumpers?
!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!
Nope. No touch with reality.
!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!
You are NOT getting what you invested.
!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!
Can't you get a newer generation for that money?
!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!
He just sort of slips in the phrase "Transmission could use a rebuild". That car is a beater for show car money.
!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!
I'm guessing this poor gentleman wasn't blessed with the gift of sight.
!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!
Just no.
!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!
He says it's cheaper than an M5 to maintain, but an M5's cheaper.
!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!
This ain't no Supra!

If it's real and not a scam, the 2dr. Blazer w/Duramax isn't as CPy as you'd think, IF and only IF it was done right. Not in the same price spectrum, but I found this crap pipe with in 75 miles of this decent priced 944.
The world's roughest "58k" miles, bullshit. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Porsche-94
Or a realistic 52k miles. http://pensacola.craigslist.org/ctd/4571212439

I have invested over $50k in aftermarket parts and modifications into this car.
I'm shocked that the 3000GT even has 50k worth of aftermarket upgrades you can buy.
The R33 motor, if it is what he claimed, is actually incredibly rare and worth a ton. However, given that it's so modified there's barely any way to tell that it started life as an N1 block (which were super-rare strengthened versions of the standard RB block) it's extremely sketchy. But since he only provides pictures of the GTS front clip (not of the actual GT-R itself) I bet it's not a legal GT-R at all, much less an N1.
$5 says the RX-7 had some catastrophic failure and they're trying to offload it.
The rest just made me depressed. Some of these are legitimately good cars but just being sold at 2x their fair price.

My distant cousin is trying to sell his 1989 100% US Spec MB SL coupe in the same color as the one there. I guarantee he wants 30k for it, And I know its worth like 9k. That being said I'd give him 6k for it, Its been for sale for at least 5 years

On that 912...
HELL THE FUCK NO! CP CP CP CP!!!!
No way in hell the 912 is the "Unicorn". Not even close. That body looks clean as hell though. If that was a '65 911 it'd be a steal even if you had to put it back together; especially as early cars are going for up to $100k+ nowadays.
You can find decent 912s for well under $15k. The fact that this one needs to be out back together, $8k and all the time and effort to get it road-worthy. That is the crackiest of Porsche crack pipes I've seen in a long time...
I'll give it the fact that it looks clean though, but that's it.

That porsche really is crackpipe material. Those Supras, I suppose I can't say much - someone will pay it. They've always been expensive cars and they're only getting rarer.
I started to say that Countach was terrible but....no way, that thing is legit. I like kit cars and replica cars, the Countach is my childhood dream car (along with the Jaguar XJ220 and Mclaren F1) and that thing is looking sweet. It's rear-engined and, I am not sure, but does it have a legit Lamborghini Countach shell on it? Is there more info on it anywhere?

The Supras can be found much cheaper other places. Also, it would be sweet and $70k material for sure IF it was finished. And not legit shell.

You are wrong about the GTR clip, it's neither rare or worth a ton.
Here's GTR production numbers:
R32 GTR - 43,934
R33 GTR - 16,422
R34 GTR - 11,310
http://www.jrautoparts.com/clip_nissan_RB
Here is one for $4500. He probably accidentally put an extra 0 on the end.
Heres the RB26 + trans for $2600

LMFAO $30k 3000GT? LMFAO WOW that is a gem
Wow what's with 3000gt owners? They don't know their cars are worthless?
that $23k non-turbo auto supra is pretty damn funny as well. Lots of gems in this list.

That R33 is nothing like the one that he's claiming he has, which is an N1 R33. Of course that one is going to considerably cheaper.
The N1 blocks were motorsport blocks that were put into special editions of the R32, R33, and the R34 V-Spec Nur, with only a few thousand of each kind made. They have a ton of improvements and advantages over a normal R33 motor, and to someone wanting to seriously crank out reliable power they are actually quite reliable.
However, I suspect it's not a real N1 motor. If it was though, it's not as CP as it may seem, but he's not showing any pictures of the actual car itself, just the engine bay. The front clip is something he's providing in addition to the car, I believe, to help fix the body damage that the one with the N1 motor has, I believe.
Kanaric

OIC Didn't see his claiming it was a special block.
GhostZ
> Kanaric
08/07/2014 at 03:10 | 0 |
Yeah, the N1 blocks are coveted because while you can take almost any RB26 to 650+ HP, they are the only ones who will still run reliably at that level, and they are the only factory block that's safe to crack quadruple digits without extensive modifications to the whole thing.
I bet there's under 1000 true N1 motors across the entire R32-R34 range. It had significantly improved cylinder strength and cooling, so it could take far more of a beating.
Kanaric

08/07/2014 at 03:16 | 0 |
It looks like he did a full build on this block as well. I find it hard to believe though such a thing would cost $45k but maybe that was his cost to acquire the block + to do the build. If that is indeed his front clip he could of had the engine built and put into one of those Motrex GTS-25T R33s since they cost so much money that would explain why he spent so much on a car that would cost like $6-8k in other countries.
If it were me I would of just built a RB 25 or 26/30, lol. Though I don't know if the RB30 bottom is as stout.
Kanaric
> GhostZ
08/07/2014 at 03:19 | 0 |
looking at it again, that front clip has to be the wrong picture uploaded. The engine bay pics are completely different. This $45k is probably a complete car.

RB30s are slightly weaker than RB25s, which are significantly weaker than RB26s, which are noticeably weaker than RB26 N1s. Additionally, the newer the block, generally the stronger they are (a 2002 RB25 might be better than a 1989 RB26 in certain ways). It's important to note that the RB30s came at 150-200 HP from the factory, the RB25s were around 300HP under boost, whereas the RB26 were at actually closer to 450-500HP and were highly underrated.
Of course, this is just general info. "Strength" depends on the alloy used and cylinder wall size (which both got WAY better in the mid-90s) and the power potential also includes cooling systems (which is one of the huge advantages of the RB26).
It sounds to me that he imported a legal Skyline a while ago, spent tons on fixing it, and when he damaged the front end recklessly his insurance wouldn't cover it because of some gray import problem (that or it was legally registered, but not insured! a huge red flag). Any number of reasons could be the case, seems sketchy to me either way.

"Showroom classic"
-Exterior I would rate it 9 out of 10; original gorgeous paint; no rust; never been in an accident; a few small parking lot dings and some areas where some vandals have keyed the car. I've refilled the scratches with paint. Now it is ready for wet sanding and nice hand wax.
No.

LOL, just to be a troll I sent him an e-mail saying your car's worth like $7K if you can even get that much. Aftermarket parts doesn't always equate to increase resale value.
GhostZ
> mcbenz
08/08/2014 at 02:22 | 0 |
In some cases, it does, but not here. Aftermarket parts only work for cars that are collectible solely because the aftermarket, a la AE86, 240SX, and older Civics, and only if it's done very very well.

That is interesting. I always see RB25 or 26/30s on australian sites making huge power, with forged internals obviously, and some people still do RB26 strokers despite it costing more so I guess that would explain why.
GhostZ
> Kanaric
08/10/2014 at 16:49 | 0 |
If you're going for extreme power, usually the RB26's higher initial cost is made back up with not needing as much reinforcement or aggressive cooling, but not always, and it's becoming less and less common to start with an RB26 than an RB25 as the price gap widens.
